The Laois Athletics Downeys Nissan Summer Athletics league concluded on Monday evening last.

There was a very enjoyable programme of events in Vicarstown.

The new Long Jump and High Jump facilities in Vicarstown had their first official competitions, and all athletes very happy with the event.

Spectators had a great view of both the sprints and hurdles, from the high bank beside the football field, and some very entertaining races took place.

The longer distance races were held inside the football field, with spectators giving very vocal support.
