It’s another busy night of championship action – but then again, what summer’s evening isn’t?
In the senior football championship, round 1 winners Portlaoise and Graiguecullen will face-off in O’Moore Park at 7.45pm.
There is also plenty of action in the junior football championship tonight – with four games down for decision.
In the winners round, Camross take on Park-Ratheniska in Camross at 7.15pm.
While in the qualifiers – Errill face the The Harps in Errill, The Heath take on Portarlington in The Heath and Spink do battle against O’Dempsey’s in Spink. All junior matches kick-off at 7.15pm.
Graiguecullen had a very impressive win over league champions O’Dempsey’s in the opening round and won’t lack any confidence heading into this game.
There was only four points between the sides when they met last year in the semi-final, albeit after Portlaoise had built up a big early lead. We might be expecting a similiar result this year.
Camross have a quick turn around from their last game on Monday, where they had a good win over an Errill, last year’s Junior ‘B’ champions. They will certainly will cause a lot of teams problems in this grade and Park-Ratheniska are forewarned having drawn with Camross this time last year.
Park, however, are considered as one of the teams that can challenge for the Junior ‘A’ crown, and a win tonight will book their place in the quarter-finals and set them on the right path.
They had a good win over O’Dempsey’s second team in Round 1 and while they will face a different type of opposition tonight, they should have enough to win.
We will have live blogs on the Portlaoise v Graiguecullen match in the SFC and Camross v Park-Ratheniska match in the JFC, with reports all matches tonight.
