In Pictures: Pure elation for St Paul’s as they celebrate winning the ladies junior football final

There was pure elation for the St Paul’s women as their undefeated campaign resulted in a final win over Ballyfin in the ladies junior football final today.

This was an exciting goal thriller right from the very start as five goals rattled the back of both nets within the 65 minutes played.

History was made

History was made for both sides playing in O’Moore Park, particularly for the winning St Paul’s side – who had their first victory in the county grounds since many of the players were in Cummann na mBunscol days with Emo NS.

The junior final was followed by the intermediate battle between Shanahoe and Graiguecullen – where Shanahoe walked away the victors and secured promotion to senior status after two years of heartbreak in intermediate finals.

Parents, grandparents and children alike flooded onto O’Moore Park to celebrate with their winning side after their spectacular display earns them a spot in the intermediate competition.
