Dunamase College in Portlaoise is holding an Open Night on Monday, October 1.

This is for parents and students starting in the school in August 2019 and also for people interested in enrolling for future years.

Principal Aoife Elster will welcome prospective parents and students to the school from 5 to 7pm with presentations at 5.45pm and 6.45pm on all the school has to offer.

Now in its second academic year since opening its doors for the first time in 2017, the school prides itself on a vast array of different issues:

    • Co-Educational
    • Multi-Denominational
    • Innovative Curriculum
    • Broad subject range
    • Focus on pupil well being
    • All Irish stream
    • Digital Learning
    • Excellence in pupil-centred education

The refurbishment of the building was completed earlier this year to an excellent standard and the school now has specialist classrooms for Science, Technology, Home Economics, Art and Technical Graphics along with a range of ordinary classrooms.

The school is delighted to be a lead school in the  Digital Excellence Project which will be investigating aspects of improving mathemathics education in the transition between primary and secondary levels.

The school offers 22 subjects  and a wide range of sports and extra curricular activities, including lunchtime clubs for running, film and chess.

The school is already preparing for the 2019-2020 school year, both for the Mainstream (English) stream and the Aonad Lán Ghaeilge, where all subjects are studied through Irish.
