The Sarsfields Ladies will be hoping to reach the Leinster final today when they host Westmeath champions Milltown in Mountmellick.
Gerry O’Flatherty’s side won their sixth Laois title in a row last month and followed that up a few weeks ago by defeating Kildare champions Eadstown in the Leinster quarter final.
They came from being one point down at half-time to finishing the match nine points ahead – winning 0-20 to 1-8 in the end.
Milltown competed in the Westmeath decider against Garrycastle a few weeks ago where they won.
Despite a slow start, Milltown got going before half time and won by 0-15 to 0-9 in the end.
Sarsfields will be without Tracey Lawlor who married O’Dempsey’s footballer Peter O’Leary yesterday and she will be a massive loss as they bid to reach the decider.
Casey Conroy is also a doubt with an ankle problem while Laura Marie Maher remains sidelined as she continues her recovery from a knee injury.
This will be a tough task for Sarsfields but a big prize awaits them if they win.
