Camross march on to book place in U21 hurling final

Camross 1-14 Abbeyleix 0-2
Laois U-21 HC semi-final

No amount of wild December weather deterred Camross from shooting out the lights in the Centre of Excellence tonight.

The first-half was a low scoring affair, with Camross going in 1-1 to 0-2 points ahead at the break, Callum Mullen scoring both Abbeyleix points.

However Camross drove on through mainstays like Oisin Bennett and picked up a further 13 points, three from frees, to launch themselves into the final this weekend.

Camross’s campaign began just under three weeks ago where they comprehensively defeated Borris-Kilcotton in the same venue as tonight.

There, three first-half goals helped Camross book their place in the Laois U-21 HC semi-final.

Camross led 3-9 to 0-8 at the break and the result was never in doubt in the second half as Camross stretched their lead and eventually ran out 17-point winners.

Now, The Harps await them in the final this Saturday, December 22.
