Meditation class aims to raise vital funds for children living in poverty

Golden Egg Holistic’s final Sound Meditation class of 2018 will be a Fundraiser for the Children of Yemen.

This class takes place on Friday, December 21 from7pm to 8pm at Golden Egg Holistic, Glenfield, Portlaoise.

In 2018 Caitriona Plunkett’s classes raised over €3000 for local and national causes including the Cuisle Centre, Jack n Jill Foundation, Cara Rescue and Temple Street children hospital through Massage, Reflexology and Aromatherapy clinics.

Her final fundraiser this year is for the Children of Yemen.

Caitriona spoke about why she wanted to fundraise for the Children of Yemen on her event page.

“Almost 6,000 people have been killed and over 2.5 million citizens have been forced to leave their homes in Yemen. People are struggling to find both food and water.

“Due to the violence, ongoing conflict and constant air strikes, land, sea and air routes into Yemen have been blocked, bringing the country to a standstill. People have no access to critical goods and services such as fuel, food and clean and safe water.

“Widespread armed conflict took hold in March 2015, and since then, the crisis has been classed by the UN as one of the most severe in the world, with 21.2 million people in need of humanitarian assistance.”

All proceeds from this Sound Meditation class will be go to Oxfam and Doctors without borders.

Children over eight years old are welcome to come to the class if accompanied by an adult.

Tickets are €10 each and must be purchased in advance.

If you cant attend but would still like to support, there is an option to buy a ‘not attending ticket’.
