Ross Munnelly has been playing for the Laois senior footballers since that magical summer of 2003 and John O’Loughlin came on the scene five years later in 2008.
Since they’ve made their debuts, they’ve both been essentially ever present, through good days and bad.
And the two of them recently came into our LaoisToday offices to look back on the 2018 season, their careers in general and their hopes for the coming year.
In the interview Munnelly recalls some of his early footballer memories – including a failure to make the Laois U-14 team and how that exclusion drove him on.
He also talks about his early days in Arles-Kilcruise and the influence of Lar Wall in particular.
O’Loughlin looks back on his first time pulling on the blue and white jersey and his vivid memories of supporting Laois during the Mick O’Dwyer era.
Both players look back on the 2018 season with Laois as an enjoyable one and how they would like to see the 2019 season playing out.
