In Pictures: Hundreds turn out in club colours to support Laois hurlers

Contentment and relief filled Laois fans as the senior hurlers recorded their first win of 2019 on Saturday night in O’Moore Park.

Another great sight to see was the amount of Laois supporters – both young and old – seated in the stand and on the pitch at half-time.

While recent ticket price rises and attendances on average are falling nationwide – Laois GAA looked to reverse the trend with their ‘Club Colours’ night at the game.

The best represented Laois club at the game will win a coaching session with members of the Laois Senior hurling panel, Laois Games Development Administrators and a hydration and nurtition talk for free.

Different club hoodies, hats, scarves and headbands were all on display on the night, with the hopes of winning this prize for his club.

The winner was announced today – and it is Portarlington GAA club.

Our photographer Julie Anne Miller was there in O’Moore Park and she captured some great pictures.
