Rounders season set to get going this weekend

The Heath Rounders team

The rounders season starts in earnest this weekend as the interprovincial competition takes centre stage in RSC Athlone.

The Leinster team have a strong contingency from Laois.

Representing The Heath this weekend will be all-stars Danielle Keane, Damien Keane and James Kavanagh. Mick Slevin also represents The Heath at the weekend.

The other team to represent Laois is players from Clonaslee which include Angelina Daly.

The other Clonaslee lady is the manager of Leinster, Aine Dunne, who is hoping to guide her Leinster side to their third title in a row.

Leinster play Connacht first at 12pm followed by Munster and Ulster and then the final is scheduled for 4pm in Athlone RSC on Sunday afternoon.

Then club action bursts into action on the 14th of April where Clonaslee ladies and mixed teams play Na Fianna from Dublin in Clonaslee.

Also in action sees The Heath’s mixed and men’s teams travel to old foes Limekiln looking to get their season off to a winning start.
