A big win for Mountmellick hurlers and all of Sunday’s Laois GAA results

Mountmellick claimed their first win of Division 2 of the hurling league following a one point win over Borris-In-Ossory this afternoon.

It was a victory inspired by the Hartnett brothers who scored all but one point of their total.

County defender Donnacha Hartnett hit seven points over the course of the hour while his older brother Chris bagged two goals.

Chris managed the team for the last two years and saw them to back to back championship titles but he is now back playing with Portlaoise native Paul Bergin in charge.

If Chris continues form like this – we reckon he could light up the Intermediate championship in the summer.
