A new music, arts and wellbeing festival is coming to Laois

Mark Saturday July 27 down your diaries as the date that Sonas Boutique – a new, arts and wellbeing festival – is setting up in Laois.

Taking place at the Malthouse in Stradbally, Sonas will host a music stage, wellness tent, therapy tent, food stalls, bar, cocktails and enchanted garden.

On the Sonas music stage, acts like Finale with special guests, James O’Connor, Midlands ISL Learners Choir and Music Generation Laois Jazzy Jam will perform.

Another feature to look forward to on the weekend is the new video from ‘Ollie Plunkett and The Lost Messiahs’. The track, ‘Lights Out’ is taken from the new album ‘Deconstruction of the Mind’.

Ten original tracks were written by Ollie Plunkett and recorded at Golden Egg Studios and the album will be launched at Sonas Boutique Festival.

The Wellness tent will host sound meditation, health and wellbeing talks, nutritional information and lots more.

Indulge in your interests at the Therapy tent, which features Reflexology, Thai massage, Indian Head massage and energy balancing.

Meanwhile international cuisine, food stalls, crepes, tapas, sushi, pizza and cocktails can all be enjoyed at Sonas.

Organiser Ollie Plunkett, who was involved in the Laois Arts Festival 20 years ago, says the event is about enjoying everything to do with the mind, body and soul.

“It’s a celebration of Laois and also of orginial music within the county.

“It encompasses the mind, body and soul and it’s connection to all of us. We [Ollie, Rose O’Flannery and Dave Kenny] wanted to bring a positive festival here which celebrates all three,” said Ollie.

The event begins at 5pm until late. Tickets cost €22.20 and can be bought from here. It is an over 18s event.
