In Pictures: Plenty of fun at Ballinakill Cul Camp

Brought to you in association with All Books and News Portlaoise

Long summer days, no school and a day of playing hurling with your friends.

As a young child, is there anything better than a day at the Cul Camps?

The ever popular GAA summer camps are continuing at pace around the county and our photographer Julie Anne Miller visited Ballinakill this week, home club of Laois hurling star Cha Dwyer.

It seems no length ago that Cha was a rising star himself – this year he played a key role in Laois’s memorable Joe McDonagh Cup success and win over Dublin in the All Ireland Qualifiers.

We visited Ballinakill on Thursday of this week – though our timing was slightly off – as the Joe McDonagh Cup was a special guest on Friday. duly sending excitement levels through the roof even more.

But there was a great buzz there on Thursday too as the young players listened to their coaches, played all sorts of games in a real atmosphere of enjoyment.

Check out all the photos below.
