We’re back for another weekend of hectic action in the Laois football championships.

We have Round 3 of the SFC and JFC as well as the quarter-finals of the IFC.

The SFC relegation semi-finals also take place this weekend; Crettyard v Arles-Kilcruise on Saturday and Stradbally v The Heath on Sunday.

This evening sees two IFC quarter-finals down for decision. Clonaslee take on The Rock in Park Acragar at 7.00pm while Annanough play Portlaoise in Ratheniska at the same time.

Clonaslee were beaten by Portlaoise in Round 1 before they edged past Timahoe in the Qualifiers in Round 2.

The Rock won their first game against, now relegated, St Joseph’s while they were well beaten in Round 2 by a strong Rosenallis team.

Annanough come into their game against Portlaoise off the back of an excellent performance against St Joseph’s where they scored a massive seven goals in the game.

They had lost in a Round 1 game against Rosenallis, but got back on track with victory over St Joseph’s.

Portlaoise had lost the Division 2 final a week previous to Clonaslee, but reversed the result as they dispatched of Clonaslee in Round 1.

They were subsequently beaten by Mountmellick in Round 2.
