There are a host of Laois teams set to get there soccer season underway in the Combined Counties Football League this weekend.
This is the first year in a while that no Laois teams are in the Senior Division with Clonaslee United and Rosenallis dropping down to Division 1.
That now means there are five Laois teams in Division 1 – Stradbally Town A, Mountmellick United, Clonaslee United, Towerhill Rovers and Rosenallis A.
In Division 2 there is one Laois team competing and that is Portlaoise AFC who were formally O Moore FC but have now gone back in under the Portlaoise umbrella and are their third string as their A and B sides play in the Leinster Senior League.
Division 4 has been disbanded this year with Division 3 expanded and split into two groups – Division 3A and 3B
In 3A, there are seven Laois teams – St Aengus Fc, Midlands Celtic, Mountmellick Celtic, Rosenallis B, Abbyleix Athletic, Stradbally Town B, and Maryborough. Midlands Celtic are the prisons team.
