The recently re-named MW Hire O’Moore Park is to host the Leinster senior club football final next weekend when Dublin giants Ballboden-St Enda’s take on Carlow side Eire Og.
The game is pencilled in for a 2pm throw-in in Portlaoise on Sunday December 8 and will be broadcast live on TG4.
It will be the third big game in two weeks for MW Hire O’Moore Park having hosted the Portlaoise v Eire Og Leinster club football semi-final on Saturday night last which was also broadcast live on RTE.
While this Sunday, it host the Leinster senior club hurling final this weekend when Kilkenny giants Ballyhale Shamrocks take on Carlow side St Mullins.
That game is on Sunday December 1 at 2pm and it will also be shown live on TG4.
Veterans Michael Darragh McAuley and Conal Keaney are among Ballyboden’s more recognizable names while Colm Basquel, Robbie McDaid, Colm Basquel, Alan Flood and Ross McGarry are all handy enough.
Eire Og though showed they are no mugs in their convincing win over Portlaoise at the weekend and they will not fear Ballyboden.
Carlow footballers Jordan Morrissey, Eoghan Ruth, Sean Gannon and Darragh O’Brien are all very capable along with Chris Blake, Colm Hulton and Brendan Kavanagh.
Eire Og are around 4/1 to win the game while Ballyboden are overwhelming favourites at 2/9.
