In Pictures: Huge crowds turn out again for annual St Stephen’s Day walk in Clonaslee

The enduring popularity of the annual St Stephen’s Day walk in Clonaslee was evident again with hundreds of people again turning out to scenic Laois village to take part.

The annual Clonaslee Sliabh Bloom sponsored walk is one of the most successful of its kind, donating over €30,000 every year for Laois Hospice.

In what is the 27th annual walk, the organisers are on course to break €1 million.

The event again included two options – the long 10-mile hike and the shorter 4-mile route.

Again both were widely supported and the mild weather conditions ensured a huge turnout again for the very pleasant event as people of all ages came out.

Refreshments in Clonaslee Community Centre were served after both walks.

Our photographer Julie Anne Miller was on hand to capture a selection of images.
