2019 Remembered: Laois GAA hit out at ‘unofficial’ calendar

Laois GAA chiefs were not happy about this back in November.

Laois GAA have hit out at a company who are currently canvassing businesses and clubs for advertising in an ‘unofficial’ calendar.

LaoisToday understands that a company called ‘Choice Media’ have been trying to sell advertising for a Laois GAA calendar/wall planner in recent weeks.

However, Laois GAA say that they do not benefit financially from this whatsoever.

They wish to make clubs and businesses aware of this and instead plead with them to support their initiatives.

Laois GAA Secretary Niall Handy said: “It has been brought to our attention that a company named Choice Media have been canvassing our clubs and local businesses, purporting to be selling advertisement for a Laois GAA calendar/wall planner for 2019 -20.

“I wish to advise that this company has not got permission to use Laois GAA teams or crests in this publication or is this publication in any way associated with Laois GAA and that Laois GAA do not benefit in any way financially from this publication.

“All clubs are now well aware of Laois GAA Fundraising initiatives in our efforts to finance our new LOETB Centre of Excellence.

“They should advise local businesses, that if they wish to support Laois GAA, they should do so by means of these fundraising initiatives, rather than purchase advertising in this maverick publication.”
