Michael (Mick) Brophy, Camross, Portlaoise, Co.Laois. Died 3rd January 2020, in the loving care of matron and staff of St. Anne’s Ward, at St. Vincent’s Hospital Mountmellick. Deeply regretted by his loving sisters, nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home, Mountrath, on Sunday evening from 6.30p.m., with Rosary at 8.0’clock. Removal on Monday morning to St. Fergal’s Church, Camross for Requiem Mass at 11.0’clock, followed by Burial in the adjoining Cemetery.

Kathleen (Kitty) Murphy (née (Byrne))
Borris-in-Ossory, Laois

Murphy (nee Byrne) Kathleen (Kitty) December 22nd 2019 (late of Birmingham and formerly of Borris-In-Ossory, Co Laois) (peacefully) in Birmingham. Beloved wife of the late William (Bill). Kathleen will be forever loved and very sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

May Kathleen rest in peace

Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 10 o’clock in Mary Immaculate Church (The Oblates) thereafter for burial in Palmerstown Cemetery. All enq to Massey Brothers on 4533333.

Late of C. I. E.. Peacefully at home in his 89th year. Jack is predeceased by his son Billy and sister Vera. He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife Mary, loving son Eugene, daughters-in-law, much loved grandchildren, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, his many wonderful neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Maher’s Chapel of Rest Portarlington on Saturday from 2:30pm with Removal at 4:50pm arriving St Michael’s Church Portarlington at 5:30pm. Requiem Mass on Sunday at 12 :15pm. Funeral afterwards to St Michael’s Cemetery Portarlington.

Reposing in Phelan’s Funeral Home, Durrow, from 3.00pm on Saturday evening with Rosary at 8.00pm. Funeral prayers on Sunday morning at 11.00am, followed by removal to Holy Trinity Church, Durrow, for Requiem Mass at 11.30am. Burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only. House private, please.

James, Muriel Elizabeth. 2nd January 2020. Eglinton, Derry, formerly Kensington, London and Mountmellick, Co. Laois. Peacefully, and surrounded by her family. In the exceptional care of Altnagelvin Hospital. Sadly missed by her nieces Fiona, Heather and Sarah, her sister-in-law Gloria, grand-nieces Zoe, Leah, Maeve, Charlotte and Isobel, her grand-nephew Christopher, and by David and Brian. Also her many friends and former colleagues at Peter Jones.

Funeral Service at 2pm in the Methodist Church, Mountmellick, on Saturday 4th January, followed by interment at St. Paul’s churchyard.

Died 2nd January 2020, surrounded by her loving family, in the care of doctors, nurses, and staff of the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Sadly missed by her loving sons, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her home (eircode R32 EF63) on Friday evening from 5. o’clock, with Rosary at 8 o’clock. Removal on Saturday morning to St. Canice’s Church, Borris-in-Ossory, for Requiem Mass at 11 o’clock, followed by burial in Derrinsallagh Cemetery.

House strictly private on Saturday morning please.

Bill Davis, Wolfe Tone Court, Mountmellick, Co. Laois passed away peacefully after a long illness, bravely borne, in the loving care of the The Staff at St. Vincents Community Nursing Home, Mountmellick. Deeply regretted by his loving sister Dorothy Anne Reid (Rosenallis) brother Howard (U.K.), brother-in-law Albert, sister-in-law Linda, nieces, nephews, neighbours and his many friends.

Reposing in Moloney’s Funeral Home (Eircode R32PC95) on Saturday from 10.30am until removal at 11am to The Methodist Church, Mountmellick, arriving for Funeral Service at 11.15am. Private Cremation Service will take place later. No flowers please. Donations if desired to The Cuisle Centre, Portlaoise. A donation box will be in place in The Methodist Church during the Service.

Nancy Duggan (née Quinn)
Seattle, USA and formerly Cullohill, Laois

Peacefully in Seattle.

Deeply regretted by her brother Martin, sisters Nora (Phelan) and Theresa (Mahony), sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, good neighbours and friends.

Funeral Mass in the Church of the Assumption, Seattle on Friday followed by burial in Seattle. A Mass celebrating Nancy’s life will be held in Cullohill at a later date.

Hynes. Eileen Joan. (née Quinn) O’Moore Place, Portlaoise and Ballyfermot. Dec 30th 2019. Peacefully after a long illness bravely borne at her residence. Deeply regretted by her loving husband and Carer Thomas. Brothers Tony, Desmond and Bernard. And loving sister Maura Quinn. Sisters in law Geraldine, Marie, Suzanne, and Marie Therese. Brothers in law Joey, and Marty, Nieces, nephews, extended family and neighbours, Resident of O’Moore Place.

Reposing at Keegans Funeral home on Saturday from 4.30 pm with rosary at 6 pm. Removal on Sunday to arrive at SS Peter and Pauls church for 12.30 pm requiem mass. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Pauls cemetery Portlaoise. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to the Irish Cancer society.

Reposing at her son Colm’s residence Shanahoe from 4pm on Wednesday with Rosary at 8pm. Removal to St Brigid’s Church, Shanahoe for 12 noon Requiem Mass on Thursday. Burial afterwards in St Brigid’s Cemetery, Shanahoe. House private on Thursday morning by request.

Ann will be sadly missed by her loving family, sons Michael, Liam, Pat and Sean, daughters Mary, Bridget, Barbara and Elizabeth, sons in law, daughters in law, her 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, brothers John (London) and Michael (Cullohill), nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her home, 14 Tihilly, The ullamore (R35 F2Y6), on Monday from 2pm until Rosary at 6pm. Removal after Rosary to the Church of the Assumption, Tullamore, arriving at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass on Tuesday morning at 10am. Burial after Mass in St Colman’s New Cemetery, Mucklagh.
