The new Portlaoise Plaza, which will open in May 2020, are currently recruiting for a number of positions across Supermac’s/Papa Johns/Supersubs and the forecourt.
This plaza will join the other motorway service stations in the Plaza Group – The Barack Obama Plaza, The Galway Plaza, Tipperary Town Plaza, The Kinnegad Plaza, The N20 Plaza Mallow, and our Service Stations in Charlestown, Ballyhea, and Westport.
The new service station facilities in the Portlaoise Plaza includes a Convenience store, Several Car and HGV fuelling pumps, Supermac’s Restaurant, Papa John’s Pizza, SuperSubs Salad and Sub Sandwich offering, Macs Place Deli, and a branded Barista Cafe, together with indoor and outdoor seating, toilets and washroom facilities, free wifi, car, bus and HGV parking.

The Assistant Managers/Supervisors will assist the overall Manager in the smooth running of the Supermac’s/Papa Johns & Supersubs brands, providing leadership to their team, dealing with the day to day operations, people management, food quality, HACCP, scheduling, budgeting, and all aspects associated with successfully managing a successful catering operation in a fast paced environment.
The role of Baker will involve coming up with creative ideas for a busy delicatessen, mainly for home baked style cakes/goods. We are looking for an enthusiastic person who can work on their own initiative who also has a flair/passion for cooking/baking. Experience would be an advantage but full training will be provided.

To maintain consistent standards of service, ensuring customer satisfaction. To contribute to the profitability of the Deli through operation of effective cost controls and excellent customer service.
To assist in creation and Development of dishes and products that are tasty, well presented and in keeping with Mac’s Place offering whilst complying with company regulations, law and HACCP requirements.
To assist the Deli Manager with the day to day operation of the hot & cold deli’s and the fresh food offering on site.
To assist the Deli Manager in ensuring delivery of all delicatessen and fresh food targets (in terms of Food Quality, Customer Service, Sales, Costings, Profitability and compliance with Hygiene Standards) through the effective management of delicatessen area and its personnel.
The Grill Person will provide ongoing support to the Management Team to ensure Supermac’s customers receive the best quality, service and cleanliness each time they visit a Supermac’s restaurant.
The Pizza Supervisor provides ongoing support to the Management Team to ensure Supermac’s/Papa John’s customers receive the best quality, service and cleanliness each time they visit a Supermac’s restaurant.
To assist the retail & forecourt manager and site manager in the delivery of store targets (both in terms of sales & profitability) through the effective management of store operations and personnel.
