Graiguecullen GAA set for hugely popular 5k/10k annual race day

Graiguecullen are hosting their annual 5k/10k challenge race day this Sunday February 23.

Now in its 5th year the race day is a huge community day down in Graiguecullen and also for people travelling from all over Ireland.

Graiguecullen GAA started back their annual couch to 5k in the first week of January and it has built up to this.

With young and old training two nights a week under the watch full eye of coach Jamie Malone it has being a great few weeks building up to the race day.

Winners will be presented with the perpetual cups in remembrance of the late Michael Lawler in the 5k and Miley O’Neill in the 10k male and female categories along with cash prizes for winners on the day.

They also have custom made stunning new medals for each entrant.

Also €1.50 from each entry received goes towards Carlow/Kilkenny homecare team.

The course has become a personal best for a lot of runners as it is generally flat and gives great times for the competitive runner.

Starting and finishing in the club grounds it is a chip timed event organised by Pop Up Races.

Entry is €15 for adults and €10 for U/16s and you can run, walk or jog around the course.

Starting at 10am with registration on the day open from 9am to 9.45am only.
