In Pictures: Laois GAA host very successful Concussion Network Educational Workshop

Laois GAA teamed up with UPMC Concussion Network and hosted a seminar on Monday February 24.

The free workshop took place in the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise from 6.45pm to 9pm.

The event was organised by new Laois GAA Juvenile Chairman Alan Langton.

This was an excellent opportunity to meet with and learn from concussion specialists in your region.

UPMC Concussion Network Clinical Lead, Dr Tadhg Crowley and UPMC Concussion Network Lead Physiotherapist, Derek O’Neill demonstrated a new model for the diagnosis and treatment of concussion.

UPMC Concussion Network clinicians demonstrated how ImPACT neurocognitive baseline and post-injury testing has become part of their concussion management programme.

Parents, team coaches, medics, physiotherapists, club welfare officers and other parties with an interest in concussion were invited to attend.

It was a very successful and beneficial workshop, Paul Dargan was there and took some great pictures.
