Formerly of Ballycarroll, Portarlington County Laois. Unexpectedly. Loving son of the late Frank and Una. Sadly missed by his loving brother Brian, sister Denise, nephews Conor and Ross, brother-in-law Seamus, aunts, uncle, relatives, the staff and fellow residents of St Mary’s.

Ryan (nee Cassidy), Lorraine, Ardan Glas, Portlaoise, June 19th 2020. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Michael and dearly loved mother to Jamie, Nicole, Alex and Brandon and Christopher. Deeply regretted by her loving brother John, sister Claire. Brother in law, sister in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Given the exceptional climate and to protect the welfare of everyone who knew her, a private funeral, with immediate family only, will take place, at 12 noon on Tuedsay in SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise, and will be streamed on the webcam; http://www.portlaoiseparish.ie/web-cam/ Burial afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Peters (nee Kennedy) Betty, Sue Ryder Centre, Portlaoise, June 19th 2020. Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Tom and son Dick. Loving mother to Elma and Breidette (O’Donnell) and cherished grandmother to Ellen, Eva and Luke. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family, son in law Paul, brothers Phillip and Eamonn, sister Anne Holohan, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Seán (Sonny) Bowe, Moore Street, Rathdowney, Co. Laois. June 17th 2020. Sadly mourned by his brother Joe, sisters Biddy, Teresa, Mary and Nancy, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Due to the COVID-19 Directive on public gatherings funeral strictly private, because of these restrictions you can view the funeral mass live streamed on Monday June 22nd from the Church of The Holy Trinity, Rathdowney at 11am (parishwebsites.ie/rathdowney).

Portlaoise, Laois

The death has occurred of Thomas (Tom) Major, Rathevan, Portlaoise, Laois and London, England, formerly of Bushey, Herts, U.K. Died 19th June 2020.

Tom passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, after an illness borne with patience, courage, faith and dignity.

Devoted husband and best friend of Mary (nee Flanagan) and loving father to Sarah, Ellen, Kate, Nora and Thomas. Beloved son of Nora and the late Thomas. Deeply regretted by his loving family, mother-in-law, Maura, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunt, uncle, cousins and a large circle of friends.

Requiem Mass for Tom in SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise, on Sunday at 1pm. Due to Covid restrictions, only 25 people can enter the church, however, others are welcome to attend outside the church or at SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, to The Cuisle Centre, Portlaoise.

Anne Goodwin (née O’Sullivan)
Kilbride, Portarlington, Laois

Anne Goodwin (née O’Sullivan) Kilbride, Portarlington, Co. Laois. Passed away, peacefully, June 19th 2020, at home, in the loving care of her much loved family, her husband Rodney and her daughters Alice and Martha. Anne will be much missed by her mother Nora, sister Gráinne, brother Eamonn, and her extended family, mother-in-law Shirley, Lyle, Neil, Velma, Hugo, Mike and her nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service on Monday at 2.30pm in The Methodist Church Portlaoise. Due to COVID 19 restrictions only 25 people (family members) can attend in the church.

Burial afterwards in The Friends Burial Ground, Rosenallis, at 4pm approx. Sympathisers can attend outside the church or at the burial ground.

For those who wish to pass through the church as an expression of sympathy they can do so on Monday from 10am to 12 noon.

Ballyduff, Stradbally, Laois

Christy passed away, peacefully, in the Hermitage Hospital, Dublin. Predeceased by his parents Peggy and Chris, his brothers Johnny and Mick and sister Rita. Sadly missed by his son John Paul, daughter Deirdre, brother Willie, sisters Esther, Mary, Noeline and Ann, his nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.

Covid 19 protocol in place. Social distancing to be observed. Private family funeral. Memorial Mass to be organised at a later date.

McMahon, Sr. Celine, Presentation Sisters, Mountmellick, Co Laois and formally Laghtmurreda, Lisdoonvarna, Co. Clare June 18th 2020 peacefully in the tender care of the Sisters and staff Shalom Nursing Home, Kilcock, Co. Kildare.

Predeceased by her parents Jack and Katy, her brothers J.J., George and John.Deeply regretted by her sisters Bridget (Dilly) Whittle (Donard) and Catherine McMahon –Moughtin (Nottingham), sisters-in-law Mary McMahon and Helga Perlwitz-McMahon, brothers-in-law Tom Whittle and John Cliff Moughtin, nieces Mary Whittle, Mary and Barbara McMahon, nephews Fachtna, Cathal, and Declan Whittle, John and George McMahon, grandnieces, grandnephews, Presentation Community; extended family and friends.

Due to Government and HSE guidelines regarding public gatherings a private Funeral for immediate family and Presentation Community only will take place. Sr Celine’s Requiem Mass can be viewed live on the Mountmellick Parish Webcam on Saturday 20th June at 11a.m.
