(Formerly 11 Pairc Bhride, Athy). Sadly missed by his loving mother Kathleen, sisters and brothers, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Rest in Peace

A private family funeral will take place at 2pm on Thursday in St. Michael’s Parish Church, Athy, which will be livestreamed, see www.parishofathy.ie.

Burial afterwards in St. Michael’s New Cemetery, Athy.

Ringstown, Mountrath, Laois, R32 W970

Elizabeth (Betty) Meade (née Fitzpatrick), Ringstown, Mountrath, Co. Laois. Died, peacefully, on the 20th July 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Tom, beloved mother to Julie, Annemarie, Martin, Liz, Geraldine, Tom, Claire, Paul and Micheál. Deeply regretted by her loving family, her adoring 34 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, sisters Peggy and Nan, brothers Sean and Paddy, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her home in Ringstown on Tuesday and Wednesday evening from 4pm to 9pm. (Outside of these times are for family only, please). Requiem Mass on Thursday morning in St. Fintan’s Church, Mountrath, at 11am, followed by burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery. Family flowers only, please, donations, if desired, to the Laois Palliative Care. House private on Thursday morning, please.

In accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, numbers are restricted to the immediate family only, in the church, but people are welcome to stand outside the church and cemetery. Please adhere to HSE guidelines in relation to social distancing.

Rowan (née Lambe) Florence. “Avondale”, Clonreher, Portlaoise. July 19th 2020. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Billy and dearly loved mum to Serena, Pamela and Nicola. Cherished grandmother to Naomi, Miriam, and Andrew. Deeply regretted by her loving family, sister Maisie, sons-in-law Robert and Daniel, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her residence (R32AP6W) from 5 pm till 8 pm on Tuesday evening. Funeral service at 3 pm on Wednesday in St Peter’s Church, Portlaoise. Interment will follow in adjoining churchyard. In line with government Covid guidelines, social distancing shall be observed at the grounds of St Peter’s Church. The Rowan family would like to thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.

Marion Croke (nee Purcell), The Sycamores, Freshford Road, Kilkenny and formerly Ballybuggy, Rathdowney, Co. Laois. July 21st 2020. Passed away peacefully in the presence of her family. Sadly mourned by Denis, Tom, John and Mary Kate, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Due to the COVID-19 Directive a private family funeral has been arranged. Marion’s family thank you for your understanding at this difficult time.

Loughlin Thompson, The Harrow, Ballyfin, Co. Laois, died peacefully on the 19th July 2020, at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. Predeceased by his sisters Mary and Sadie (Breen) and brothers Liam and Bernard. Sadly missed by his loving brother John, sister Anne (Gilligan), his loving nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives,neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home, Mountrath, this Monday evening from 7pm, with Rosary at 8pm (with social distancing in place). Removal on Tuesday morning to St. Fintan’s Church, Ballyfin, for Requiem Mass at 11am, followed by burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery, Ballyfin.

In accordance with Covid-19 guidelines numbers are restricted to 50 people in the Church but people are welcome to stand outside the Church and Cemetery, please adhere to HSE guidelines in relation to social distancing. If you would like to leave a message of condolence for the family please do so below.

Pre-deceased by her husband Dan and brother Mick.

Deeply regretted by her daughters Mary, Gearldine, Delores, Martina, Patricia, Monica and Elaine, son Donal, sisters Peg, Nora and Marie, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchild, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, good neighbours and many friends.

Due to goverment guidelines on public gatherings Brigid’s Funeral Mass will be for family and relatives only. Her remains will leave her residence on Wednesday morning (approx 11.15am travelling in the old Dublin road, up Castle St, down Rosemary St and in through the Belfry) arriving in St. Cronan’s Church, Roscrea for Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in the adjoining new cemetery.

A private repose will take place at Rigney’s Funeral Home, Athy (Eir Code R14 Tx26) between 6pm and 8pm on Tuesday evening, the 21st July.

A private family funeral will take place at 11am on Wednesday morning in St. Anne’s Church, Ballylinan.

Removal on Tuesday arriving St Michael’s Church Portarlington at 7:30pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 12 noon. Funeral afterwards to St Michael’s Cemetery Portarlington.

McElroy Stephen (Portlaoise and Dromore, Co. Tyrone) died suddenly on Thursday 16th July 2020. Beloved son of Josephine Bolton and the late Eugene. Loving brother to Emma (Declan) and Marie (Enda). Cherished nephew of Gabriel, Brendan, Declan, Paul, Eamon, Kathleen (Fox), Siobhan and Jackie (Bermingham). Treasured uncle to Eoin, Grace, Daniel, Isabel, Conor, Charlotte, and Juliet.

Stephen will be reposing in his uncle’s residence 25 Muldoon Park, Dromore BT78 3AY from 4pm on Sunday, 19th July. House Private. Stephen will leave his uncles residence at 2.30pm on Monday, 20th July, for 3pm Requiem Mass in St Davog’s Church, Dromore, followed by his burial in the adjoining cemetery. Stephen will travel along the Main Street and the Omagh Road to St Davogs Church.

In light of the Corona virus and in the interests of health and safety within the community, those who will be attending the funeral mass will be asked to observe social distancing. Alternatively, the funeral mass can be viewed via Dromore Parish webcam.

Deeply regretted by his loving mother, sisters, brothers-in-law, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and entire family circle.

Philip (Phil) Mockler, Johnstown Road, Rathdowney, Co. Laois. July 13th 2020. Peacefully in the wonderful care of the nurses and staff of Abbeyleix District Hospital. Predeceased by his son Stephen and daughter Susan. Sadly missed by his wife Gwen and his family Frances, Julie, Philip and Tracey, sons-in-law Jeremy and Fred, daughters-in-law Tracey and Bernie, grandchildren, Tommy, Charley, John, Lewis, Henry, Haley, John-Jo, Lucas, Jade, Joe and Paige, Great-grandchildren, Freddy, Ellie, Sadie, Charley, Tilly, Carter, Ivy, Poppy, Harper, Tommy, Ralph, Harry, Noah, Gracie, Florence and Dominic, his sisters Eileen and Tess, brothers Mick and Jim, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives and friends.

A private family funeral will take place on Friday, July 24th, at 11am in The Church of The Holy Trinity, Rathdowney. (parishwebsites.ie/rathdowney) followed by burial in Rathdowney Local Cemetery. Please note as per the COVID-19 directive that only fifty people can enter the Church. Social distancing and public health advice must be adheared to.
