LIVE BLOG: Follow all of the action from Thursday night’s Laois club football championship

And we’re back.

This week sees the first competitive football action in Laois since March of this year, with the opening rounds of adult championships.

This evening we will be bringing you updates from the Laois SFC game between Ballyroan-Abbey and St Joseph’s in O’Moore Park as well as the clash of Annanough v The Rock in the IFC in Mountmellick.

St Joseph’s narrowly got the better of Ballyroan-Abbey in Round 3 of last year’s championship to knock them out while we recently featured a famous meeting between the two – the 1992 county final that Ballyroan won to end a 42-year wait for senior success.

In the intermediate championship this evening, Annanough and The Rock meet in Mountmellick.

Both sides were beaten in the quarter-finals last year and this pairing gives one of them a chance to ensure their survival in this grade.

It is the first meeting between the two since 2014 when Annanough won a group game by a point.

There are also Junior ‘A’ championship games this evening between Killeshin and Ballylinan and Errill and Barrowhouse.

We have Rory Delaney reporting for us from O’Moore Park while Gavin Cooper is in Mountmellick.
