Draws made for Round 2 of Laois senior and intermediate football championship

The draw has been made for Round 2 of the Laois senior football championship.

Champions Portlaoise will play Portarlington in a repeat of last year’s controversial quarter-final while the pick of the games is probably the clash of neighbours O’Dempsey’s and Emo.

There is also an interesting clash between St Joseph’s and Stradbally in the losers section with the losers of that then set to be in a relegation playoff. There are also interesting ties between Killeshin and Courtwood and Ballylinan and Rosenallis.

In the intermediate championship, Crettyard, who had a big win over Timahoe in their opening game will play the winners of O’Dempsey’s and Portlaoise. The other winners section game will see Clonaslee play The Rock. In the losers section, Mountmellick will play Annanough while Timahoe will face the losers of O’Dempsey’s and Portlaoise.

The Round 2 games in the senior and intermediate championship will take place from Thursday, September 3, to Sunday, September 6.
