The Portlaoise based secondary school will be hosting its first Literature Festival starting Monday, December 14, until Friday December 18.

The week is sure to be jam packed with a wide variety of events taking place.

Teacher Emma Scully said: “We will have Zoom calls with established writers such Pat Critchley, Dr. Arthur Broomfield and Seán Corcoran.

“There will be poetry rap activities, a musical lyric writing call with Niamh Regan, a drama drop in call with Frances Harney and a Zoom call with Laois actress and presenter Doireann O’Connor.

“There will also be creative writing workshops, a seasonal zoom theatre production, a Roald Dahl themed day and even a zoom call with LaoisToday owner Steven Miller.

“Keep an eye on the school Facebook and Twitter accounts over the coming week to keep up to date with all the events.”

Dunamase College would like to say a very special thank you to all the wonderful artists that have agreed to be part of this exciting festival.

They also would like to remind parents and students to consider the gift of a book this holiday season.
