After two losses in their opening two games, the Laois hurlers face a crucial clash with Clare in O’Moore Park this afternoon in their bid to avoid a relegation play from Division 1 of the National League campaign.
Laois were beaten by Wexford in their opening game and then by Dublin last Saturday.
Visitors Clare have also lost their first two games – away to Antrim and at home to Wexford last Sunday – and sit just above Laois at the bottom of the table on points difference.
In the other games this weekend, Dublin defeated Antrim yesterday evening while the meeting of Kilkenny and Wexford has been postponed due to Covid cases in the Wexford camp.
A Laois win would considerably boost their hopes of avoiding a relegation playoff with further games to come away to Kilkenny and Antrim.
As always we’ll be live blogging all of the action with minute-by-minute updates from O’Moore Park.
The game throws in at 3pm and will be followed by the ladies football National League Division 3 clash between Laois and Kildare.
