The great Christy Moore song Lisdoonvarna captures the magic of traditional Irish music and there’s a reason it’s so loved not just here but across the world.
And the Fleadh movement has harnessed the genre in a competitive environment brilliantly over the years.
In this week’s Moment in Time feature we got back 15 years to the local Fleadh competition in Laois.
Alf Harvey’s wonderful library of archive of images always throws up some great photos and it’s no different this week as we look back at the Laois Fleadh of 2006.
It was a weekend of glorious sunshine and Alf’s photos duly did it justice.
