LIVE BLOG: Follow all the action as the Laois hurlers face Antrim in final league game

The Laois senior hurlers face Antrim in Corrigan Park in Belfast this afternoon.

Seamas ‘Cheddar’ Plunkett is still searching for his first win in his second spell as Laois manager.

Wexford, Dublin, Clare and Kilkenny have thus far proven too strong for Laois.

Defeats in all of those games mean that Laois are in the relegation playoff against Westmeath regardless of the outcome of this game.

That is because Antrim are unbeaten at this venue so far this year.

In front of 500 fans, they defeated Clare in Round 1 and sealed their status for another year with a thrilling draw against Wexford.

That point was crucial as it puts three points between Laois and Antrim on the table – and makes the gap insurmountable.

Speaking after last weekend’s defeat to Kilkenny, Laois manager Seamas Plunkett said he would be using this game as preparation for the Leinster championship in two weeks time.

So we can expect to see plenty of players used today over the next 70 minutes.
