‘Substantial damage done’ to Laois church following overnight break-in

A ‘substantial amount of damage’ has been done to a Laois church following an overnight break-in.

St Abban’s Church in Killeen was the victim of the crime on the night of Tuesday December 7.

A post on the Killeen Community Group outlined what happened.

They appealed for anyone with information to come forward to Gardai and report it.

They said: “It is with deepest regret I write this post.

“St Abban’s Church, Killeen, was broken into last night December 7.

“There was a substantial amount of damage done. Anyone with information please contact Gardai.

“We ask everyone to please be extra vigilant for any suspicious activity around your area and report to your local Garda station.”
