Michael Deevy
Cashel, Ballyroan, Laois

DEEVY, Michael, Cashel, Portlaoise, 23rd December 2021, in the loving care of Bernie Brennan and staff in Ballard Lodge Nursing Home, Portlaoise. Michael, son of the late Mary and Michael Deevy, Drumagh, Crettyard. Predeceased by his sisters, Mary, Rita and infant Bridget and brothers, Andy and Tom, he will be sadly missed by his wife Elsie, his children, Lena, Mary, Eddie, Bridget and John, sons in law and partner Dave O’Connor, Dave Wilson, Cormac Browne and daughter in law Áine Deevy. Survived by his brother Eddie and his sisters Lena and Patricia, grandchildren, Róisín, Méabh, Hugh, Ross, Dara, Jack, Madge and Tom, sisters in law, nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Michael will be remembered by ‘Laois Friends’ the advocacy association that he founded and remembered by his special friends with whom he had an affinity and an enduring bond.

Michael will repose at home in Cashel. His Funeral Mass will take place on 26th December at 2pm at St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyroan, and may be viewed onhttps://laoisfuneralslive.com/J2Ps4U followed by burial at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Abbeyleix.

John Hetherington
Woodbrook, Mountrath, Laois

John Hetherington, Bourneville, Birmingham, England and formerly of Woodbrook Mountrath, Co. Laois. Son of the late Billy and Ruby Hetherington (nee Keegan).

John after a short illness, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on November 11th. 2021. Beloved husband of Kate. Predeceased by his brother Patrick, sisters Kate, Ruby, twin sister Noreen and nephew Paul Turner. John will be sadly missed by his loving wife Kate, her children, his sisters Eileen and Halvena, his brother Ronan, brothers in law, sister in law, cousins and friends.

A small number of family and close friends gathered at Redditch crematorium on December 7th to pray and say a fond farewell to a wonderful man.

Dinah Dunne (née Keenan)
Pattison Estate, Mountmellick, Laois

Dinah Dunne (nee Keenan) Pattison Estate Mountmellick died unexpectedly at home on December 21st 2021. Deeply regretted by her husband Eddie, son Edward, daughter Edel, grandchildren Madison, Muireann, Alex and Max, sister Maura O Loughlin, St.Brigids Portlaois , nieces and nephews, neighbours, relatives and many friends.

Bianconi Way, Portlaoise, Laois

Zdzaslaw Marian Gronowski. Bianconi Way, Ridge Rd., Portlaoise. December 20th 2021 suddenly at his residence. Deeply regretted by his Loving son Tomasz, daughters Katarzyna, Sylwia, Edtya and Honorata, and all his extended family.

Reposing at Keegans Funeral Home, Portlaoise on Thursday evening from 6 pm to 8 pm. Prayers will be recited at 7 pm. Cremation will take place on Friday. A memorial mass for Zdzaslaw will take place at a later date, in SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise.

Paddy Kehoe
Springhill, Carlow / Laois

Paddy Kehoe, Springhill, Carlow, Co Laois, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on December 22nd, 2021, at his home.

Beloved husband of Sinead and adored father of Danny and Jack.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their families, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, relatives, good neighbours and friends, especially his bros and good friends in the biker community.

Removal from his home, Springhill, (Eircode R93 K5P1) on Sunday (St Stephen’s Day) at 12.30pm to The Holy Cross Church, Killeshin, arriving for Funeral Mass at 1pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Oliviea O’Reilly (née Greene)
53 Oakleaf Place, Portlaoise, Laois

Predeceased by her father Mickey. Beloved mother of Chloe, Jason, Dillon and Charlie. Much loved daughter of Helen. Deeply regretted by her loving family, brothers, sisters, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

Requiem mass on Thursday, 23rd December, in St Peter & Paul’s Church, Portlaoise at 12 midday. Interment afterwards in St Peter & Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise: http://www.portlaoiseparish.ie/web-cam/

Michael (Mick) Ryan, Lyrogue, Rathdowney, Co. Laois. December 22nd 2021. Peacefully in the wonderful care of the nurses and staff of Brookhaven Nursing Home. Beloved husband of Nellie, sadly missed by his sister Sarah (McManus), nieces Marion, Lisa and Ellen, nephews Michael, Eamonn and Sean, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his home (Lyrogue) on Thursday from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock. Funeral mass on Friday at 11 o’clock in The Church of Our Lady Queen of the Universe, Errill, followed by interment in Rathdowney Local Cemetery.
