Laois community activity hub seeking to launch their own junior parkrun

A Laois community activity hub is seeking to set up and establish their own junior parkrun.

Rathdowney-Errill Activity Hub are hoping to establish the event this year and are looking for volunteers to make it happen.

Junior parkrun is a series of 2k runs for children held in areas of open space around the UK, Ireland and Australia.

A spokesperson said: “Junior Park Run is a fantatic event that all the family can play a part in and we are looking to become just the second such event in Laois.

“But we need your help to make it happen. No running experience is required to become a volunteer.

“We just need your enthusiasm to get involved and a willingness to provide your support on Sunday mornings, whenever possible.

“So why not come onboard and help us make something special happen.

“Contact Shane Keegan on 087-6577256 to offer your help, no matter how big or small a role you think you can play.”
