All square as neighbours Trumera and Colt-Shanahoe finish level

Hurling general

Trumera 1-14 Colt-Shanahoe 1-14
ACHL Division 2

Neigbours Trumera and Colt-Shanahoe met for the first time in a competitive game this evening in ACHL Division 2 but they had to be content with a draw as they both continue their unbeaten league start.

While the Colt-Shanahoe second team had played Trumera in last year’s league tonight was the first time the first teams had done battle since Colt and Shanahoe amalgamated ahead of the 2020 season.

They’ve swapped places in the championship for this year – with Trumera winning the intermediate grade last year and Colt-Shanahoe relegated from premier intermediate so this league clash was a relatively novel fixture.

Dylan Cuddy hit 1-4 for Colt-Shanahoe with Dayle Bergin, Shane Bowe and Mossy O’Connor also hitting points.

For Trumera Dylan Lalor got the goal with Niall Sinnott hitting a selection of points from frees and play and Adam Kirwan also on target.

The result leaves the sides level on top of Division 2 after three games with five points each.

Colt-Shanahoe are next in action on Wednesday week when they face Clonaslee-St Manman’s while Trumera make the short trip to take on Abbeyleix’s second team this day two weeks.
