Customers and friends invited to prayer services following sad passing of Laois business man

There is deep sadness in Portlaoise this week following the sad passing of a well known businessman.

Muhammad Tariq Chaudary owns Variety World in Portlaoise with his wife Annie.

Originally from Pakistan, Muhammad came to Laois in the 90s and opened his business in 1995.

He worked in the business from then right up until his passing this week.

Mr Tariq was extremely well-liked and there has been an outpouring of emotion on social media following news of his death.

Customers and friends are invited to attend two prayer services in memory of Muhammad which take place today.

The details of the two services are as follows:

“It is with a heavy heart I’d like to inform you Muhammad Tariq Ch from Portlaoise has passed away.

“Inna lillahi wa inallah-e-raji’oon.

“The Janaza Prayer will take place after Dhuhr, 1.45pm on Wednesday 15th June at Clonskeagh Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland.

“Second Janaza Prayer will take place after Asr, 6pm at St Peter & Paul’s Cemetery, N80, Ballymooney, Portlaoise, Co. Laois beside the Maxol Service Station on Stradbally Road.

“May Allah SWT shower him with His Mercy and Forgiveness and grant him Paradise, Ameen.

“May He the Exalted grant his family patience and endurance.

“Please keep him in your prayer.
