In Pictures: Fountains of Abbeyleix and prehistoric pottery in Mountrath at Heritage Week

Laois Heritage Week took place from August 13–21 in venues across the county.

It celebrated all the best of the built, natural and cultural Heritage of the county and the communities and individuals who look after it.

The theme for Heritage Week this year is “Biodiversity and Sustainability”.

Over the next few days, we will bring you pictures from all of the events that took place.

Up first, we have shots from an event called Fountains of Abbeyleix.

The story of the fountains was told by Brian Maher with a good crowd in attendance.

The second event here is prehistoric pottery in Mountrath.

Adults and children headed to Mountrath Library where they made some great pottery.
