Gardai have launched an investigations after a man was seriously assaulted at the Electric Picnic Festival.
The incident happened between Friday evening and Saturday morning – between 11.30pm and 12.30am.
It has been reported that the man sustained ‘life-changing head injuries’ following the attack.
The man was treated at the scene and subsequently brought to Tullamore Hospital.
From there, he was transferred to St James’s Hospital where his condition is unknown.
Gardai confirmed that they have launched an investigation into the incident.
They say: “An Garda Síochána are investigating an assault that occurred at Electric Picnic on the night of Friday 2nd September 2022 into the morning of Saturday 3rd September 2022 between 11.30pm and 12.30am.
“One man was assaulted and attended Tullamore Hospital and was later transferred to St James’s Hospital, Dublin.
“Investigations ongoing.”
