Sadness and shock at sudden death of well-known Laois woman in France

Frances Sheeran

The death has occurred of Frances Sheeran, a native of Coolrain, in Cannes in the South of France.

Frances was aged in her early 60s and passed away after a short illness this week.

The late Ms Sheeran had been living in France since the early 1980s, where she settled and raised her three children.

Frances worked initially in the property business and in more recent times had opened a beachfront restaurant in Cannes.

Frances was from the well-known Sheeran family that owned Sheeran’s Village Inn pub in Coolrain as well as Coolrain Sawmills and CJ Sheeran’s.

One of a family of eight, she was a triplet alongside her brother John and identical sister Therese, who also lives in France.

Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her heartbroken family, Frances will lie in repose on Friday, September 9, from 3pm (French time) at Salon Saint-Honorat, 223 Avenue de Grasse, Cannes 06400.

Her funeral will take place on Wednesday, September 14, at 2.30pm at l’Eglise Saint Jacques le Majeur, de Mougins Village (Place de l’Eglise 06250) with the burial afterwards at the Mougins Village Cemetery, Avenue Paul Robert 06250.

A book of condolence will be open at the offices of CJ Sheeran Mountrath and Ballinrobe and Coolrain Sawmills until Wednesday, September 14.
