Liam Delaney
Swords, Dublin/Ballaghmore, Laois

Delaney Liam, Swords and formerly of Ballaghmore, Co. Laois and late of the Silver Lining, Dublin Airport and Malahide Castle. Passed away on the 12th October 2022 after a brave fight in the wonderful care of Beneavin Lodge Nursing Home. Beloved husband of Yvonne and predeceased by his son-in-law David.

Very sadly missed by his loving wife, loving daughters Karen and Deirdre, his adored grandsons Tristin and Brandon, brother Joe, sister Mary, also remembering his late brother John, he will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at his home on Thursday, 13th October, from 6pm to 8pm. Removal to St. Finian’s Church, Rivervalley, Swords on Friday morning for 10am Funeral Mass followed by cremation in Dardistown Crematorium.

Carmel Keogh (née Shortall)
Kilbarrack, Dublin/Portarlington, Laois

KEOGH, Carmel (neé Shortall) – Kilbarrack, Dublin and previously of Portarlington, Co. Laois.

Died after a short illness at Beaumont Hospital on 12th October 2022. Predeceased by her son Michael. Dearly beloved wife of Michael and dear mother of Deirdre, Bernadette, Brian, Declan, Clare and Paschal.

Cherished grandmother of Leanne, Jennifer, Keith, Emmet, Tom, Seán, Lucy and Martha. Carmel will be forever missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, sons-in-law John and Paul, daughter-in-law Rhona, sisters Marie, Jean and Bernie, brother-in-law Martin, sister-in-law Sissy, her many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

John O’Connell
Boleybeg (Spink), Abbeyleix, Laois

John passed unexpectedly. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Mary, son Matthew, daughter Claire, daughter-in-law Ann-Marie, granddaughters Ava and Katie, sisters Sadie (Walsh), Maureen O’ Connell and Kathleen (Goucher), nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Denis Reid
Belfast, Down/Belfast, Antrim/Dublin 1, Dublin/Laois

The death has occurred of Denis Reid, Belfast, Co. Down and formerly of Ballymena, Co. Antrim, 2nd October 2022, peacefully, in the care of the staff at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, Scotland and surrounded by his loving family.

Cherished husband of Anne (nee Boyd). A devoted dad to Karen (Hayward, Edinburgh), Denise (Sweeney, Dublin) and Angela (Costello, Boyle) and a much-loved father-in-law to Larry, Paul and Brian. A loving brother to Vincent, Monica and Francis and the late Mary, Pat, Joe, Teresa, Rosaleen and Chris RIP. A proud Granda to Beth, Malachy, Joe, Owen, Paul, Roisin, Larry and Sarah.

Denis’ remains will leave his late home on Friday, 14th October, at 5.15pm to arrive St Colmcille’s Church, Holywood, for 6.00pm. Funeral on Saturday, 15th October, after Requiem Mass at 11.00am, interment afterwards in Redburn Cemetery. Mass can be viewed live via www.stcolmcillesholywood.org/

Deeply regretted by his wife, daughters, sons-in-law, brothers, sister, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and close circle of family friends.

Matthew O’Meara
Oakleaf Place, Portlaoise, Laois

O’Meara Matthew. Oakleaf Place Portlaoise and late of Windgap Co Kilkenny 9th Oct 2022. In the loving care of the staff of Ballard Lodge Nursing Home. Loving father to Louise, Matthew, Yvonne, Mary, Stephen, Paddy and Jason.

Deeply regretted by his loving family. Grandchildren, nephews, nieces. Brothers in law Paddy and Timmy. Sons in law, daughters in law. Neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Keegans Funeral Home on Monday evening from 7pm with rosary at 8pm.

Requiem Mass at 12 noon on Tuesday in St Nicholas’ Church Windgap. Followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Please leave condolences in the section below.

Kathleen (Katie) Henry (née Cahill-Cashin)
Ballacolla, Laois

Kathleen (Katie) Henry (nee Cahill-Cashin), Ballacolla, Portlaoise, Co. Laois. October 8th. 2022, Peacefully, in the loving care of the Matron and staff at the Brookhaven Nursing Home Ballyragget, Co. Kilkenny.

Predeceased by her Parents, sister Cecilia (Beesley) and her brother Richard (son). Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by her loving husband Gerry, brothers Pauric and Tom, sisters Maureen and Breda, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and her many friends.

Reposing at her home in Ballacolla this Monday evening from 5 o’c with Rosary in the house at 8 o’c.

Funeral Mass this Tuesday (Oct. 11th.) in The Church of the Immaculate Conception Ballacolla at 12 noon followed by interment in St. Fergal’s Cemetery, Ballacolla.

Maureen (Mary J) O’Donnell (née Keenan)
Ash Grove, Mountmellick, Laois/Roscommon

The death has occurred of Maureen (Mary J) O’Donnell (nee Keenan), Ashgrove, Mountmellick County Laois. Maureen O’Donnell (née Keenan), Ashgrove, Mountmellick and late of Eastersnow, Co. Roscommon. Peacefully after a short illness in the care of St Vincent’s Community Hospital surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of the late John. Predeceased by her daughter Mary Judith and her husband John, her sister Veronica and brother Frank.

Deeply regretted by her daughters Susan, Sara and Lucy, sister in law Bernie, sons in law Tom, O’Neill, and David, her adored grandchildren, John, Laura, Evan, Amy, Emma, Rachel, Adam, Andrew, Aisling and Emily, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, friends and all the staff and residents in St Vincent’s Hospital, Mountmellick.

Requiem Mass on Monday at 11am in St. Joseph’s Church, Mountmellick. Burial after in St.Joseph’s Cemetery. The Mass will be live streamed on www.mountmellickparish.ie.

Ethna Moran (née Cullen)
Glenside, Abbeyleix Road, Portlaoise

Predeceased by her husband Thomas and her daughter Margaret O’Connor. Much loved mother of Veronica Mac Dermott, Aidan and Thomas Jnr. Deeply regretted by her loving family, son in law Rory, daughter in law Paula, grandchildren and great grandchildren, brother in law Paddy, nieces and nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

Reposing at home on Monday evening from 5 to 8pm with rosary at 8. Removal on Tuesday at 11.30am to arrives at St Peter and Paul’s Church for 12 noon requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in St Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.
