Carmel Mooney
The Green, Clonaslee, Laois

Carmel Mooney, The Green, Clonaslee, Co. Laois. Passed away on the 14th of October 2022, peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff of Kilminchy Lodge Nursing Home, Portlaoise. Predeceased by her parents Sean and Julie Mooney, sisters Susan, Phil, Madeline and Sheila, her brothers Joe, John, Ger, Dennis and Larry. Deeply regretted by her surviving brothers Seamus, Father Patrick and Danny, sisters Angela and Anno, her sister-in-law Brigid, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Reposing in Maloney’s Funeral Home Mountmellick, on Saturday from 6pm with Rosary at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Sunday at 12 noon in St. Manman’s Church, Clonaslee, with burial afterwards in St. Manman’s Cemetery, Clonaslee. Quigley Park, Rathdowney, Laois/Cullohill, Laois

Kathleen Kenny, Quigley Park, Rathdowney and formerly Ballydavin, Cullohill, Co. Laois. October 14th 2022. Peacefully in the wonderful care of the nurses and staff of Brookhaven Nursing Home, Ballyragget, Co. Kilkenny. Predeceased by her parents Ann and Edward. Sadly mourned by her relatives and all her friends.

Reposing at O’Sullivan’s Funeral Home, Rathdowney on Sunday evening from 7 o’clock with prayers at 8 o’clock. Funeral mass in The Church of The Holy Trinity, Rathdowney on Monday at 2 pm followed by interment in Aughmacart Cemetery.

Betty (Julia) Weston (née Tobin)
Clonaghadoo, Mountmellick, Laois

The death has occurred of Betty (Julia) Weston (née Tobin). Clonaghadoo, Geashill, Co. Offaly, eircode R35 TX93. Peacefully, in her 98th year, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Jimmy, parents William and Margaret Tobin, (Gurteen, Killeigh), brother Paddy Tobin (Donegal) and sister Mary Flynn (Lucan).

Betty will be sadly missed by her loving family, Mary (Behan), Danny, Noel, PJ, Shirley (Bowe) and Fiona (Redmond), daughters-in-law; Anne, Marie and Mary, sons-in-law Tom, Liam and Ray, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her residence in Clonaghadoo on Saturday 15th from 5pm – 7:30pm and on Sunday 16th from 2pm – 8pm. Rosary at 8pm on Sunday evening. Removal to St Mary’s Church, Clonaghadoo, on Monday 17th October at 10.30am for requiem Mass at 11am. Burial after Mass in St Mary’s Cemetery, Clonaghadoo. House private on Monday morning please.

Sheila Moore (née Kent)
Ballyouskill, Attanagh, Laois/Kilkenny

Peacefully at her residence after a short illness surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Billy. Deeply regretted by her daughter Helen, grand daughter Sinéad, grand son Adrian, great-grandson Nathan, sister Mary, niece, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her residence from 2.00pm on Sunday with Rosary at 7.30pm. Removal to the Church of the Assumption, Ballyouskill on Monday morning for Requiem Mass at 11.00am. Burial immediately afterwards in St. Brigid’s Cemetery, Ballinakill.

Phyllis Mulholland (née Caffrey)
Ballybeg House, Barrowhouse, Athy, Kildare/Laois

Peacefully, in The Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. Predeceased by her beloved husband Gerard. Deeply regretted by her daughter Aisling, son-in-law David, grandson Gerard, family, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Rigney’s Funeral Home, Athy from 6pm to 8pm on Sunday (October 16th). Requiem Mass on Monday (October 17th) in St. Mary’s Church, Barrowhouse at 11am. A private cremation will take place afterwards. Family flowers only please.

Jeremiah (Jerry) O’Sullivan
Durrow, Laois/Mallow, Cork

The death has taken place of Jeremiah (Jerry) O’Sullivan, Durrow, Co. Laois and formerly of St. Patrick’s Place, Mallow, Co. Cork. who passed away peacefully on October 14th 2022 at the Sacred Heart Nursing Home, Crosspatrick, Co. Kilkenny, beloved father of Raymond and Valerie and brother of the late Nanette (Kiernan), Michael, Margaret and Vincent. Sadly missed by his loving family Raymond and Valerie, their mother Mary, sister Catherine, brothers Leo and Neil, daughter-in-law Anne, son-in-law Kevin, grandchildren Daniel, Fionn, Liam and Luise, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives and friends.

Lying in repose at O’Connell’s Funeral Home, St. James’ Avenue, Mallow on Sunday (October 16th) from 7 pm with Prayers at 8 pm.

Requiem Mass on Monday (October 17th) at 1.30 pm in St. Mary’s Church, Mallow, which may be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/mallow. Cremation will take place at 4pm at The Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork.

Liam Delaney
Swords, Dublin/Ballaghmore, Laois

Delaney Liam, Swords and formerly of Ballaghmore, Co. Laois and late of the Silver Lining, Dublin Airport and Malahide Castle. Passed away on the 12th October 2022 after a brave fight in the wonderful care of Beneavin Lodge Nursing Home. Beloved husband of Yvonne and predeceased by his son-in-law David.

Very sadly missed by his loving wife, loving daughters Karen and Deirdre, his adored grandsons Tristin and Brandon, brother Joe, sister Mary, also remembering his late brother John, he will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at his home on Thursday, 13th October, from 6pm to 8pm. Removal to St. Finian’s Church, Rivervalley, Swords on Friday morning for 10am Funeral Mass followed by cremation in Dardistown Crematorium.

Carmel Keogh (née Shortall)
Kilbarrack, Dublin/Portarlington, Laois

KEOGH, Carmel (neé Shortall) – Kilbarrack, Dublin and previously of Portarlington, Co. Laois.

Died after a short illness at Beaumont Hospital on 12th October 2022. Predeceased by her son Michael. Dearly beloved wife of Michael and dear mother of Deirdre, Bernadette, Brian, Declan, Clare and Paschal.

Cherished grandmother of Leanne, Jennifer, Keith, Emmet, Tom, Seán, Lucy and Martha. Carmel will be forever missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, sons-in-law John and Paul, daughter-in-law Rhona, sisters Marie, Jean and Bernie, brother-in-law Martin, sister-in-law Sissy, her many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing in Jennings Funeral Home, Oscar Traynor Road, Coolock on Friday (Oct. 14th) from 2pm to 4pm. Removal on Saturday morning to Holy Trinity Church, Donaghmede arriving for 10am Funeral Mass followed by burial in Fingal Cemetery.

John O’Connell
Boleybeg (Spink), Abbeyleix, Laois

John passed unexpectedly. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Mary, son Matthew, daughter Claire, daughter-in-law Ann-Marie, granddaughters Ava and Katie, sisters Sadie (Walsh), Maureen O’ Connell and Kathleen (Goucher), nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his son Matthew’s residence eircode R32 P895 on Friday from 2pm. Removal to St.Lazerian’s Church, Knock for Requiem Mass on Saturday at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in Ballinakill Cemetery.

House Private on Saturday morning by request.
