Oxley Electrical and Security Ltd received approval back in July for the purchase of land at Clonminam, Portlaoise.
A Laois company’s proposal to purchase a site from Laois County Council for €396,400 was approved at a meeting recently.
Oxley Electrical and Security Ltd sought to buy 1.49 hectares of land at Clonminam, Portlaoise in Knockmay.
The proposal came before Laois County Councillors at a meeting this week where it was unanimously approved.
Established in 2007, Oxley Electrical and Security Ltd has been serving domestic and commercial clients in Laois.
They are based in Abbeyleix and are a family business owned by Tim and John Oxley.
They offer a broad range of electric gates, fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV installation and more to help their clients feel secure at all times.
The proposal to sell the land was put forward by Fianna Fail’s John Joe Fennelly and seconded by Fine Gael’s Willie Aird.
Cllr Fennelly said: “This is a company with a good track record and I am delighted this has been approved.
“They have a number of warehouses and are a progressive company who are very well regarded in their field.”
