Mary O’Regan (nee Monaghan), The Corner House, Errill, Co. Laois. January 11th 2023. Peacefully at home, sadly missed by her brothers Jack and Michael, sisters-in-law Judith and Brenda, her sisters Kathleen and Bernadette, brothers-in-law Richard and John, her nieces and nephews, especially Gerry and Gerardine, grand-nephews, grand-nieces,relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral reception on Friday evening at 7pm in The Church of Our Lady Queen of The Universe, Errill. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 10am followed by cremation at The Islands Crematorium, Cork.

Joan Young (née Phelan)
Ballycleary, Castletown, Laois

Joan Young (nee Phelan), Ballycleary, Castletown, Portlaoise, Co. Laois (peacefully at her home. January 9th. 2023.

Predeceased by her husband Thomas (Tommy), sons Seamus and T.J.. Deeply regretted by her loving family, daughters Breada and Josie, sons Con, Gerard and Liam, sisters Phil and Patricia, brothers Oliver and Martin, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Joan’s Funeral Mass will take place this Saturday morning (Jan. 14th.) at 11 o’c in St. Edmund’s Church Castletown, with burial immediately afterwards in Aghaboe cemetery. House Private please at all times.

Mai O’Rourke (née Conroy)
Springfield, Ballyfin, Laois

O’Rourke Mai (nee Conroy) Springfield, Ballyfin, 10th January 2023. Peacefully, in the loving care of the matron and staff of Lourdesville Nursing Home, Co. Kildare, in her 103rd year. Predeceased by her husband Liam. Deeply regretted by her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, dear neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Keegan’s funeral home on Friday from 6pm with rosary at 7pm. Removal on Saturday to St. Fintan’s Church, Ballyfin, for 11am requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in St. Fintan’s Cemetery, Ballyfin.

Agnes Hyland (née Deegan)
Currawn, Aghaboe, Ballacolla, Laois

Agnes Hyland (nee Deegan), Currawn, Aghaboe, Ballacolla, Co. Laois. January 10th 2023. Peacefully at Portlaoise Regional Hospital in the presence of her loving family. Following a long illness, predeceased by her infant sister Mary. Sadly missed by her loving husband Joe and her beloved son Ben, her godchild Maebh, her parents Donal and Margaret Deegan, her brothers Dan, Joe, Martin, Liam, Fintan and John Paul, her twin sister Breda and her sister Annmarie, father-in-law Mikie Hyland and mother-in-law Laura, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at her home (Currawn) R32 NH05, on Thursday and Friday evening from 4pm with prayers at 8pm on both evenings. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 12 noon in St. Canice’s Church, Clough followed by interment in Aghaboe. Family flowers only, donations can be made to The Cuisle Centre.

Margaret (Peig) Bergin (née Fitzpatrick)
Frankford, Kilcormac, Offaly / Ballyroan, Laois

Margaret ( Peig ) Bergin, ( née Fitzpatrick ), Frankford, Kilcormac, Co. Offaly and formerly of Ballyroan, Co. Laois, died January 11th, peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband William, baby daughter Geraldine, daughter-in-law Geraldine and recently deceased sister Betty. She will be sadly missed by her sons and daughters; Cathleen, Jacinta, Garrett, Mairéad, Ciara, Liam, Tony and Clare, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, her brothers Séan and Paddy and her sister Nan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Boyd’s Funeral Home Birr ( R42 YF75 ), on Friday, January 13th, from 5pm – 7pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 14th, at 11am. in the Church of The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Kilcormac, followed by burial in St. James Cemetery, Eglish, Birr.

The death has occurred of Mary Lavin 6 Lord Edward Street, Mountmellick, Co. Laois. Peacefully at Suncroft Lodge Nursing Home, Suncroft, Co. Kildare.

Pre-deceased by her parents Laurence and Mary. Deeply regretted by her cousins, relatives, good neighbours and many friends.

Reposing at Moloneys Funeral Home, Mountmellick(R32 PC95) on Thursday evening from 6.00pm with Recital of the Rosary at 7.30pm. Removal on Friday morning at 10.50 arriving at St. Joseph’s Church Mountmellick for Funeral Requiem Mass at 11.00am. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

William (Bill) Cobbe
Tramore Heights, Tramore, Waterford / Portarlington, Laois

William Henry (Bill) Cobbe, late of Tramore Heights, Tramore, formerly of Portarlington, Co. Laois, passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday the 10th of January 2023.

Predeceased by his loving wife Helen and his sisters Maureen and Sheila.

He will be sadly missed by his son Billy; his daughters Elaine and Annie; his daughter-in-law Kerry-Anne; his son-in-law John; his grandchildren Liam and Saoirse; his nephews Edward and David, and his niece Emer. He will be sadly missed by all his extended family, wonderful neighbours and many friends.

Bill’s remains will be reposing at Falconer’s Funeral Home, Riverstown, Tramore, on Thursday, the 12th of January, from 5pm to 7 pm.

Br. Timothy (Jackie) McLaughlin, De La Salle Brothers, Miguel House, Castletown, Portlaoise, Co. Laois and late of Church Road, Carndonagh, Co. Donegal, Predeceased by his parents Celia and Joe, brothers Martin and Joseph. Greatly missed by his sisters Maura, Rosarie, Veronica, Ann and his brother Brian, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces,nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, friends and especially by his confreres in religion and the staff of Miguel House.

Reposing in Miguel House from 11.00 am this Thursday (Jan. 12th.) with Evening Prayer and Rosary at 7.00pm. Funeral Mass on Friday (Jan. 13th.) at 2.00 pm, with burial immediately afterwards in the Monastery cemetery Castletown.

Predeceased by her sisters Peggy and Mary and brother James. Deeply regretted by her loving brother Peter, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Rigney’s funeral home, Athy on Thursday evening (January 12th) from 6pm to 8pm. Removal form her residence on Friday morning to arrive at The Church of the Holy Rosary, Luggacurren for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Rathaspick Cemetery.
