Six changes to Laois hurling team to play Kilkenny in Walsh Cup

The Laois senior hurling team to play Kilkenny in the Walsh Cup on Sunday shows six changes to the side that beat Wexford last Sunday.

Podge Delaney, Liam O’Connell, Aidan Corby, Jordan Walshe, Ross King and PJ Scully all come in for their first starts of the season, though Walshe, King and Scully all came on as second-half subs.

Those to make way are Donnchadh Hartnett, Paddy Purcell, Ciaran Byrne, Liam Senior, Mossy Keyes, James Duggan.

A rare Laois win over Kilkenny would ensure Laois of a place in the Walsh Cup final with a game to spare.

Laois finish up the group stages with a game against Offaly in Tullamore next Sunday, January 22.

Kilkenny, who are in the first season under new manager Derek Lyng, beat Offaly last week and finish the group phase away to Wexford next weekend.

Sunday’s game against Kilkenny throws in at 2pm in Rathdowney.
