Ann (Nan) McKane nee Conlon Ballygillaheeni, Rosenallis Co. Laois and formerly The Thatch, Seeoge, Moate Co. Westmeath died March 8th unexpectedly.

Dear wife of the late John. Deeply regretted by her neices, nephews, sister-in-law Vera, cousins, neighbours, relatives and many friends.

Michael Scully, Killanure, Mountrath, Co.Laois. Died 8th March 2023, at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Predeceased by his wife Kathleen and his parents.

Beloved father of Geraldine, Carmel, Mick, Claire and Eoin. Sadly missed by his loving family, 12 grandchildren Jack, Savannah, Ally, Naoise, Breena, Rory, Conor, Aoife, Katie, Ben, Will and Caiden, sisters Teresa (Lynch), Kathleen (Kennedy) and Marian (Carey), brother Martin, sons-in-law Sean, Alan and Robbie, daughters-in-law Catherine and Elaine, sisters-in-law, Bridie Lalor, Mary McGrath and Kathy Scully, brothers-in-law Michael Lynch and Paddy Carey, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Mick and Catherine’s home at Killanure (eircode R32E866) on Thursday evening from 5.0’clock, concluding with Rosary at 9.0’clock. Removal on Friday morning to St. Aidan’s Church, Killanure, for Requiem Mass at 12 noon, followed by Burial in Camross Cemetery.

House private on Friday morning please.

Raitis Tora. The Village, Heather Lodge, Portlaoise. March 7th 2023. Peacefully surrounded by his loving family. At St Brigid’s Hospice, The Curragh. Deeply regretted by his heartbroken wife Solvita, his loving children Elisa and Dagnis, his mother Rita and all his former workmates at McEvoy Engineering, Cullohill.

Maura Culleton (née McSpadden)
Garoon, Mountmellick, Laois

Maura Culleton (nee McSpadden) Garoon, Mountmellick Co. Laois (R32x328) died peacefully in her home on March 8th 2023 in the company of her loving family.

Retired nursing staff of St. Fintan’s Hospital Portlaoise. Predeceased by her loving husband Willie and her parents Jim and Mary. Deeply regretted by Martin and Claire, Liam and Derval, Damien and Ber, Maria and David, Linda and Robert, her adored grandchildren Ciaran, Matthew, Muireann, Padraig, Daniel, Grace, Clodagh, Jack and Tom, brothers Donal, Tom, Jimmy and Paddy, sister Margie Slattery, extended family, relatives, former work colleagues, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing in her home from 6pm on Wednesday. Recital of The Rosary at 9pm. Reposing Thursday and Rosary at 9pm. Removal on Friday morning at 10.10am to St Joseph’s Church for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial after in St Joseph’s Cemetery Mountmellick.

Seamus McCabe
Meelick, Portlaoise, Laois

Seamus McCabe, Moore St., Rathdowney and Meelick, Portlaoise. March 7th 2023. Passed away peacefully at Dromnin Nursing Home, Stradbally. Predeceased by his brothers Hugh, Joe, Liam, and Michael. And sister Eilish Conroy. Deeply regretted by his loving sisters Mary McCabe, Kathleen (O’Herlihy) and Evelyn (Flavin), nephews, nieces. relatives and friends. Also all his work colleagues at Modern Iron Works Rathdowney.

Reposing at Keegan’s Funeral Home, Portlaoise on Wednesday evening from 7 pm. With rosary at 8 pm. Removal on Thursday to SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise for 12 noon requiem mass. https://www.portlaoiseparish.ie/webcam/. Interment will follow afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Gerard Byrne
13 Carriglea, Killenard, Laois / Dublin

Gerard formerly Stannaway Road, Crumlin and Firhouse Dublin, passed away peacefully in Saint James Hospital, Dublin in the loving company of his loving family. Sadly missed by his loving wife Denise, greatly missed by his daughters Sarah, Aoife, Caoimhe and son Christopher, grandchildren Faye and Kai. Predeceased by his daughter Cheryl and brother David. Sadly missed by his brother Bernard and sister Antoinette, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Private removal from his residence by Whelehan Funeral Directors on Friday morning at 9.30am to arrive at Saint John’s Church, Killenard for 10am Requiem Mass.

Cremation service to follow in Newlands Crematorium at 12.30pm. Sympathizers can extend their words of sympathies on the online Condolence facilities below.

Mary Nolan (née Maher), Linkardstown, Nurney, Co. Carlow and formerly of Killeaney, Kilbricken, Laois, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on March 7th, 2023 in the Sacred Heart Hospital, Carlow.

Mary, beloved wife of Pert and loving mother of Breda, Peter, John, Mabel, Maria, Michael, James, Tom & Teresa. Deeply regretted by her loving husband, daughters, sons, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, kind neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her home on Wednesday from 2pm. Removal from there to Saint Joseph’s Church, Tinryland to arrive at 8pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday at 12 noon, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
