Jim Costelloe, Graigueafulla, Clonaslee, Co. Laois, died the 31st of March 2023, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and in the wonderful care of the staff of St. Brigid’s Hospital, Shaen, Portlaoise. Predeceased by his son Michael and sister Mary (Lawlor). Loved always by his wife Nancy, daughter Anne, grandson Lorcan, son-in-law Chris, sister Bernie (Hardiman), extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his home on Sunday (April 2nd) from 4pm with Rosary at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Monday (April 3rd) at 12 noon in St. Manman’s Church, Clonaslee, with burial afterwards in St. Manman’s Cemetery, Clonaslee. Jim’s Funeral Mass can be viewed on www.churchmedia.tv by selecting County Laois.

Mary (Pippy) McEvoy (nee Booth), Garryduff, The Heath, died 31st March 2023, at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, after a short illness. Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.

Sadly missed by her husband Ned, her children Ellen, Lauren and Daniel, her grandson Daniel, sons-in-law Gary and James, her brothers and sisters Denis, Noreen, Marion, Eileen, George, Nutchy, John, Donal, Sheila, Peter and Paula, sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends, also by her work colleagues at Blossom Time Boutique, Portlaoise. Funeral arrangements later.

Joan Morris (nee Crossan) Debbicott , Mountmellick Co. Laois. Died March 31st 2023. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Cyril and family. Reposing in Moloney’s Funeral Home, Mountmellick, on Sunday from 6pm. Reciital of The Rosary at 7.30pm. Funeral arriving St Joseph’s Church, Mountmellick for Requiem Mass on Monday at 1pm. Burial after in St Joseph’s Cemetery.

Maurice (Mossie) Scully
1 Droimnín Village and formerly Court Square, Stradbally, Laois

Maurice (Mossie) Scully, 1 Droimnín Village and formerly Court Square, Stradbally. Peacefully on the 1st of April at St Vincent’s Hospital, Mountmellick in the wonderful care of the matron and her staff.

Deeply regretted by his beloved wife, Peggy, sister Noreen, bothers, Owen and Brendan, sisters-in-law, Mary and Francis, bother-in-law, Jim, nieces, nephews, extended family and a large circle of friends.

Mossie will repose at the Presentation Chapel, Stradbally, from 2pm on Sunday, 2nd April, with recital of the Rosary at 8pm. Requiem Mass will take place at 12 noon in the Sacred Heart Church, Stradbally, on Monday, 3rd April. Interment to follow in Oakvale Cemetery.

Lillian Corcoran (née O’Neill)

Lillian Corcoran (née O’Neill), Clontyglass, Portlaoise, Co. Laois. Passed away on Thursday 30th of March 2023.

Predeceased by her parents-in-law Martin and Mary Corcoran and her nephew Dylan O’Neill.

Sadly missed by her husband Richard, her children Darragh, Kate, Seán and Rory, her loving parents Tony and Eilish O’Neill, brothers Tony, Ger and Thomas, sisters Ellyn and Kathleen, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing in her home (R32XCN2) on Sunday from 3pm with Recital of the Rosary at 6pm. Removal on Monday morning at 10.15am to St Joseph’s Church Mountmellick arriving for 11 O’Clock Requiem Mass. Removal after Lillian’s Mass to Newlands Cross Crematorium arriving for 2.30pm.

House private on Monday morning.

Francis (Frank) Magan, Kiladooley, Donaghmore, Co. Laois, March 27th, 2023. Peacefully, at Tullamore Hospital. Sadly missed by his sister Kathleen, brothers William and Paul, brother-in-law Chris, nieces, Lorena and Louise, nephew Liam, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at O’Sullivan’s Funeral Home, Rathdowney, Co. Laois (R32 NY24) from 6 to 7pm on Monday 3rd April and Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 11am in Killasmestia Church, followed by interment in Bealady Cemetery. Hilda Pratt (née Dann)
Portlaoise Road, Abbeyleix, Laois/Roscrea, Tipperary

Formerly of Killavilla Roscrea. Peacefully at home following a long illness bravely borne. Predeceased by her parents Isaac and Ruby and sister Avril. Deeply missed by her loving son Robert, sisters Carol (Sullivan) and Clare (Drought) nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, extended family and a large circle of friends.

Peacefully, in the excellent care of the matron and staff of Milford Hospice Care, Limerick.

Pre-deceased by her parents Kitty and Joe and her sister Reenie.

Deeply regretted by her sisters Esther and Celine, brothers Joseph, TF and Gerard, sisters-in-law Carole, Margaret and Marianne, brother-in-law Leo, nieces, nephews, relatives, her best friend Poppy, very good neighbours and large circle of friends.

Reposing in Tierney’s Funeral Home, Roscrea (E53 NY70) on Thursday evening from 6.00pm to 8.00pm. Private removal from her residence on Saturday morning at 11.30am arriving to St. Molua’s Church, Ballaghmore (R32 RC53) for Funeral Mass at 12.00 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining church cemetery.

Noreen’s residence will be strictly private on Friday and Saturday.

Rita O’Brien (née Byrne)

Rita O’Brien (nee Byrne), Errill Road, Rathdowney, Co. Laois and formerly Drimnagh, Dublin 12. March 28th 2023. Peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff of Portlaoise Hospital. Beloved wife of Thomas and deeply missed by her sons Eamonn, Bernard, John and Paul, daughters-in-law Marian and Colleen, friends Delia and Margaret, her adored grandchildren Katie, Lucy, Siobhan, Blathnaid and Tommy, extended family and friends.

Reposing at O’Sullivan’s Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 12 noon in The Church of The Holy Trinity, Rathdowney (www.parishwebsites.ie/rathdowney) followed by interment in Bealady Cemetery.

Anna Constance Bland (née Vesey)
Blandsfort, Ballyroan, Laois

The death has occurred on Sunday, the 26th of March, of Anna Constance Bland (nee Vesey) at her home at Blandsfort, Ballyroan, County Laois.

Dearly loved wife of the late John, adored mother to David and Peter, cherished mother-in-law to Frida and Chacha, and loving grandmother to Lodhi, John and Laura. She will be much missed by her brother, Tom, and her extended family and friends.

Requiem Mass shall take place at St Patrick’s Church, Ballyroan, County Laois at 12 p.m. on the 1st of April and the interment shall take place thereafter in the family crypt at Blandsfort.
