Formerly of Shanahoe and New York. Peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after a short illness. Predeceased by his beloved wife Brigid (“B”) and by his sisters Mary, Breda and Carmel. Deeply missed by his daughter Sheila, son Garret, adored grandson Alex, son-in-law Ciaran Toner, sisters Pat Lawlor and Judy Campbell, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, godchildren extended family and many friends.
Reposing at his residence on Tuesday, April 4th, from 3pm. to 6.30 pm. Removal to St. Brigid’s Church, Shanahoe for prayers at 7.30 pm. Removal to the Chapel of repose adjoining the Church of The Most Holy Rosary, Abbeyleix thereafter. Removal to The Church of The Most Holy Rosary on Wednesday for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to Abbeyleix District Hospital. Condolences can be left on the online link below.

Mary (Pippy) McEvoy (née Booth)
Garryduff, The Heath, Stradbally, Laois
Mary (Pippy) McEvoy (nee Booth), Garryduff, The Heath, died 31st March 2023, at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, after a short illness. Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.
Sadly missed by her husband Ned, her children Ellen, Lauren and Daniel, her grandson Daniel, sons-in-law Gary and James, her brothers and sisters Denis, Noreen, Marion, Eileen, George, Nutchy, John, Donal, Sheila, Peter and Paula, sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends, also by her work colleagues at Blossom Time Boutique, Portlaoise.
Reposing at Keegans funeral home Portlaoise on Tuesday evening from 5pm, with rosary at 7pm. Funeral Leaving the family home at Garryduff and arriving at The Chuch of the Assumption, The Heath for 12 noon requiem mass on Wednesday and may be viewed on https://www.portlaoiseparish.ie/the-heath-webcam/
Interment will take place in the adjoining churchyard. Family flowers only.
Bernadette Mannion (née Hayes)
Ballyhide, Carlow / Laois
Bernadette Mannion (née Hayes) “Cúlmara”, Ballyhide and formerly Maher Road, Graiguecullen, Carlow, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on April 1st, 2023, at her home.
Beloved wife of Pat (Joseph), much loved mother of Moya, John, Edward and Brian and the late Ann and cherished sister of Miley Hayes and the late Peg, Marie, Lilah, Kathleen, Bertie and Ned.
She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, daughter, sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, brother, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Reposing at her home, “Culmarl”, Ballyhide, Carlow (Eircode R93 V4Y8) from 5pm on Monday, April 3rd concluding with prayers at 8pm that evening. Removal on Tuesday at 1.30pm to St. Clare’s Church, Graiguecullen arriving for Funeral Mass at 2pm. Funeral afterwards to Sleaty New Cemetery for burial.

Francis (Frank) Magan, Kiladooley, Donaghmore, Co. Laois, March 27th, 2023. Peacefully, at Tullamore Hospital. Sadly missed by his sister Kathleen, brothers William and Paul, brother-in-law Chris, nieces, Lorena and Louise, nephew Liam, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at O’Sullivan’s Funeral Home, Rathdowney, Co. Laois (R32 NY24) from 6 to 7pm on Monday 3rd April and Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 11am in Killasmestia Church, followed by interment in Bealady Cemetery. Hilda Pratt (née Dann)
Portlaoise Road, Abbeyleix, Laois/Roscrea, Tipperary
Formerly of Killavilla Roscrea. Peacefully at home following a long illness bravely borne. Predeceased by her parents Isaac and Ruby and sister Avril. Deeply missed by her loving son Robert, sisters Carol (Sullivan) and Clare (Drought) nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, extended family and a large circle of friends.
