Peacefully, at home surrounded by her loving family. Adored daughter of Ned and Pauline and cherised sister of Mary, Anne, Claire and Una. Deeply regretted by her family, nieces and nephews Joshua, Charlie, Molly, Alice, Georgia, James, Harry and Jeffrey, brother-in-law Ivan, Mary’s partner Willie, Anne’s partner John, relatives, kind neighbours and many friends.

Michael (Sonny) Browne
The Rushes, Ballickmoyler, Laois/Crettyard, Kilkenny

Browne (late of The Rushes, Ballickmoyler, Co.Laois (Via Carlow) and formerly Monteen, Crettyard, Co. Kilkenny) 13th April 2023, Peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. Michael (Sonny), predeceased by his wife Bridget.

Loving father of Paul, Jim and David, sadly missed by his sons, sister Rita (Moran), daughters- in- law Julie, Teresa and Evelyn, Grandchildren Teresa, James, Michael & Cillian, nephew James, cousin Eileen Hennessy, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Moran’s Funeral Home, Castlecomer R95PD82, from 3pm Friday concluding with Rosary and Vigil prayers at 8.30pm.

Funeral to Arrive at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Moneenroe, for requiem Mass at 11.30am on Saturday. Michael’s Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The Funeral Mass can be viewed on the following link

Suddenly 10th April 2023. Loving father of Susan and Catherine and beloved son of Mary and the late Donal R.I.P. Tom will be reposing at his daughter’s residence 28 Dora Avenue, Newry, Co.Down. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 12 noon in St Patrick’s Church, Loughgall, Co. Armagh. Burial afterwards.

Kathleen (Kay) Dempsey (née Heaney)
Mountmellick, Laois/Midleton, Cork/Glasnevin, Dublin

The death has occurred of Kathleen (Kay) Dempsey – nee Heaney of Mountmellick, Co Laois and formerly of Midleton, Co Cork and Glasnevin, Co Dublin.

Peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving daughters, after a long illness. Predeceased by her beloved husband Albert and her sister Nuala.

Dearly loved and missed by her daughters Mary, Elizabeth and Jean. Loving and proud granny of Simon, Jessica, Sara, Kate, Michael, David, Patrick and Conor. Much loved sister of James, David and Peggy.

Regretted by her sons-in-law, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, carers, neighbours and friends in the community.

Reposing in Moloney’s Funeral Home on Friday from 4.30pm. Removal to St Joseph’s Church, Mountmellick at 5.45pm arriving for 6pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 11am followed by a private family burial.

Mary Whalley (née Coleman)
Closeland, Ballybrittas, Laois

Mary Whalley (nee) Coleman, England and formerly Closeland, Ballybrittas, Co. Laois.

Mary passed away after a short illness surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her parents William and Bridget.

Deeply regretted by her loving son Michael, daughter Sinead and son in law Tom and adored grandchild Alfie. Sadly missed by her brothers Willie and Tom, sisters Alice (Maher), Breda (McCormack) and Ann (Duffy).

Brothers in law Stephen McCormack and Willie Duffy, sister in law Bridie Coleman, nieces, nephews, cousins relatives and loved by so many who knew her through her years of nursing. Mary’s Requiem Mass will take place on Tuesday, 18th of April, in Saint Patrick’s Marshside at 1.30pm and can be viewed on

Foxrock, Dublin/Mountrath, Laois

(Foxrock, Dublin 18, born Mountrath, Co. Laois) April 11, 2023. Too soon but peacefully in the care of St. Vincent’s Hospital. Loving husband and will be sadly missed by his wife Jackie. The best father to Natasha, Andrew, Claire and Paul. And loved dearly by his sons-in-law and daughters-in-law, eight grandchildren, three sisters, wider family and friends, who were so important to him.

Funeral Service will take place at 10.30am this Saturday, April 15th, in Tullow Parish Church, Brighton Road, Carrickmines, D18 RF79 followed by private cremation. Maureen Linehan (née Kirwan)
Shanahoe, Laois

Maureen Linehan (nee Kirwan), Canada and formerly of Shanahoe, Co. Laois. 10th. March 2023 in Canada. Predeceased by her parents William and Elizabeth, nephew Enda.

Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by her son Eamonn, daughter Deirdre, sister Betty (Cashin), brother Liam, aunt Annie kirwan, son in law, daughter in law, two grandchildren, brother in law Tom, sister in law Vivienne, niece, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Maureen’s memorial Mass will be on Sunday (16th. April) at 12 noon in St. Brigid’s Church Shanahoe, Co. Laois. (Eircode R32 AH90).

Reposing at Anderson & Leahy’s Funeral Home, Newbridge on Sunday from 4pm with prayers at 7pm. Removal on Monday morning at 10.30am to arrive at St. Brigid’s Church, The Curragh for 11am Mass. Funeral afterwards to St. Conleth’s Cemetery, Newbridge.
