Long-serving Laois Garda retires from the force after 33 years of services

Garda Dave Dundon retire

A long serving Laois Garda has retired from the force following 33 years of active service.

Dave Dundon, from Timahoe, retired on Sunday April 16 from his current post in Ballylinan.

He was given a presentation from Sgt PJ OBrien, Garda Killian Fitzharris and Garda Robbie Foran.

While Garda Derek Flynn of the Garda Representative Association Laois/Offaly Division also made a presentation.

Garda Dundon retires after 33 years of service having been stationed in Dublin, Tipperary and Laois.

A spokesperson for the Gardai paid tribute to Dave and wished him well with his retirement.

They said: “Garda Dave Dundon had his last day of duty on Sunday 16th of April last.

“He received a presentation from Sgt PJ OBrien, Garda Killian Fitzharris and Garda Robbie Foran.

“Garda Derek Flynn Garda Representative Association Laois/Offaly Division made a presentation to Garda Dave Dundon on his retirement

“Garda Dundon retires after 33 years of service having been stationed in Pearse St, Traffic DMR, Garda College Templemore and Ballylinan.

“We wish Dave all the best on retirement.”
