Laois Summer Camps 2023

The summer holidays are fast approaching and many a parent will be eyeing up activities to keep their little ones entertained over the school break.

Below you’ll find a list of the Summer camps, organised by week, happening around the county this year.


Week 1 – July 3-7

Let’s Go Camps

Let’s Go! Summer Schools operate multi activity sports camps. Each Let’s Go! Multi Activity Summer Camp offers two programmes of activities, one for the 5-6 year olds (children must be attending primary school) and the second for children aged 7-12 years.

  • Locations: Portlaoise 
  • Dates and times: Monday to Friday 9.30-3.30pm each day

FAI Soccer Summer Camps

The camps aim to provide children between the ages of 6 and 14 the opportunity to attend a week-long football summer camp over the holiday period. Every year boys and girls of all abilities turn out to enjoy five days of fun and football.

  • Location: Lions AFC, Durrow
  • Time: 10am -1pm each day (including bank holidays if applicable)
  • Ages: 6-14 years
  • Cost: First Child – €80 Family Discounts (2nd, 3rd, 4th Child) – €70 *Extra Time (2 or more camps) – €65

Irish Language Summer Camp

Camp activities will include: orienteering/treodóireacht, games/cluichí, races/rásanna, quizzes/tráth na gceist, art/ealaín, music/ceol and conversations/comhrá.

  • Ages: Primary school children/daltaí bunscoile

Starcamp

A multi-activity camp including singing, dancing, acting, talent shows, arts and crafts plus much more. Locations include Mountmellick, Portarlington and Portlaoise.

  • Cost: €99 for one child, €180 for two siblings, €250 for three siblings, €320 for four siblings.

A bilingual hurling nursery camp. Lots of fun nursery games to encourage and get started on hurling skills for life, through the medium of Gaeilge and Béarla.

Leinster Rugby Camps

These camps are open to any girls and boys, new and existing players, who would like to come and give rugby a try this summer, in a fun and safe environment.

There will be visits to each camp from Leinster Rugby players. The day and time of the player appearances at the camps may change from week to week, in accordance to the players schedule.

Every camp attendee gets a training t-shirt, Rhino rugby ball, and drawstring bag. Camp goers will also get one free ticket to a selected Leinster game

Designer Minds Summer Camps

STEAM camps will see kids get hands on with interactive Science experiments, creative Technology, fun Engineering challenges, Art projects and even a little Maths!

Sonas Kids Camp

The Sonas Kids Camp is run by primary school teacher and qualified strength and conditioning coach, Pauraic McEvoy. He is currently the head academy strength and conditioning  coach with Laois GAA. The camp will include fundamental movement skills, balance and co-ordination, strength and conditioning as well as yoga and mindfulness.
