A Laois footballer has been nominated for the GAA Player of the Week award.

Graigucuellen’s Mark Timmons is one of three selected from the weekend’s matches.

He scored 1-1 from centre back as Laois defeated Fermanagh to reach the Tailteann Cup quarter finals.

Timmons is one of three Laois players that have been named in the Team of the Week.

He is selected at centre back while Robbie Pigott is in the corner and Evan O’Carroll at corner forward.

Wexford’s Mark Rossiter and Down’s Pat Havern are up against Timmons for the accolade.

The vote for the GAA Player of the Week takes place on the GAA’s Instagram page via ‘stories’.

You must vote Yes for Mark and No to the others. Check it out here.
